Services
We offer a wide range of services focused on improving your covered process programs.
Regulatory Support
We provide support for your site/company if you have a scheduled audit or upcoming activity with a regulator (OSHA, EPA, CUPA). Services in this area can include:
PRE-INSPECTION PREPARATION
POST-INSPECTION SUPPORT
REGULATORY FILING
CONFERENCES WITH REGULATORS
RELEASE ANALYSIS (Quantification, Root Cause Analysis, Documentation, Reporting)
Mechanical Integrity
MECHANICAL INTEGRITY AUDIT
A Mechanical Integrity Audit is a thorough audit of your program’s equipment, piping, valving, etc. to identify any areas of corrosion, damage, or other design concerns that could result in a release. We’ll prepare a report outlining our findings, as well as recommendations to help improve safety and reliability of your system.INSPECTION, TESTING, PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE (ITPM)
A comprehensive Inspection, Testing, and Preventive Maintenance program is a critical component in keeping your equipment performing as designed with all safety systems and backup systems properly tested and validated. Proper documentation of these activities is critical (if it’s not in writing it didn’t happen).
Program Compliance
Is your program strong enough to withstand a regulatory audit? Let us bring a fresh viewpoint to score each program element against regulatory requirements and industry standards.
3-YEAR COMPLIANCE AUDIT
A compliance audit is an independent audit of your current covered process program to determine whether there are any regulatory risks or gaps that the team should work to improve.PROGRAM SCORECARD
A program scorecard that visually summarizes the results of a compliance audit (or even better, a side-by-side comparison with other sites within the parent company) will help quickly identify areas that need additional focus, as well as tracking and highlighting improvements made by the team. We’ve seen this simple tool drive massive improvements in program health and compliance.

Contractor Compliance
Let us help you establish a best-practice Contractor Compliance Program to properly identify and onboard qualified contractors, develop appropriate contractor work rules for your site (or company), and track contractor performance going forward.
Project Management
We can help with all phases of capital project management: Project justification, scope and budget development, project scheduling, procurement, installation, startup and performance validation, project closeout, etc.
We can directly manage your capital projects, oversee related projects as a project director, or help your team assemble and prioritize your capital plan (based on risk reduction, reliability, efficiency, etc.)
Training
Keep your team current with training requirements while also building a strong safety culture. Whether you'd like instruction onsite or online, we’ll work closely with you to develop a training program that best meets your specific needs:
PSM/RMP OVERVIEW (1 hr)
PSM/RMP FOR PROGRAM LEADERS & COORDINATORS (8 hrs)
CUSTOMIZED TRAINING
Process Hazards
Whether you need a 5-year Process Hazard Analysis or a Project Hazard Review, we can help. We’ll gather the details we need to clearly understand the hazards, coordinate a review time that’s convenient for your team, and facilitate a discussion with your internal experts to fully explore any hazards within your process. This isn’t a check-the-box activity, this is a real conversation to expose and prioritize any areas of risk so your team knows where to focus their improvement efforts.
PROCESS HAZARD ANALYSIS (PHA)
A PHA is a structured exercise to virtually ‘break’ your process in multiple ways. The team identifies risks, then decides which risks need to be mitigated to reduce associated likelihood or severity. A PHA is required to be completed for each covered process every five years, and written reports must be retained for the life of the process.
A PHA is also a critical time to exercise your employee participation. An ideal PHA team would include a cross-functional group with: front-line operations & maintenance, safety, environmental, engineering, management, and training. We need first-hand knowledge of how the process actually works to make informed recommendations and drive the necessary improvements.Acceptable types of Process Hazard Analysis include:
What-if analysis
Checklist
What-if/Checklist
Hazard & Operability Study (HAZOP)
Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Fault Tree Analysis
PROJECT HAZARD REVIEW
Planning a project to modify or expand a covered process? We can guide your team through a conversation to explore the proposed change from multiple viewpoints to identify any open risk areas that should be considered within the project scope. Whether your change is minor or major we'll help develop a hazard review approach that provides the necessary design inputs at the proper times.
Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP)
States may have differing methodologies on how they collect data from the regulated community, but a compilation of site chemicals and inventories is an overarching requirement. Our experience across the country ensures we can help no matter the location of your facilities.

Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Support
VPP is an OSHA program to recognize the best of the best in occupational safety management. It is a rigorous program that not only ensures you have compliant and effective safety and health programs but also exempts the certified workplace from routine OSHA inspections. This program is available to both federally covered workplaces and those within state run OSHA jurisdictions.
Whether you need an onsite visit to prep for VPP application or a program review for an upcoming recertification audit – PPM is at the ready to support with SGE/STM certified consultants. We also offer support for compiling annual reports that must be submitted to the agency. We can assist with both PSM covered and non-covered facilities.
